Paris Philippou

Paris Philippou is an architect and urban designer, whose work has been recognised, published and exhibited internationally. The latter includes, but is not limited to, a winning Europan Entry for Pilea in Thessaloniki, an installation at the 10th Venice Architectural Biennale, Awards from the Greek architectural journal Domes, a BIG See Award, as well as national representation of the Republic of Cyprus at the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture (also known as Mies van der Rohe Award). Combining practice with research and occasional teaching, Paris is currently involved in many of the Practice’s large scale and demanding projects. Paris’s interests focus on the ways the city is present within the architectural project and, at the same time, the contribution that architectural work itself makes to the city. He has completed his Diploma at the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA), in London, and has been in practice since 1998 – starting from a brief spell in London, and then at J+A Philippou since 1999.
