This Work-in-Progress Project involves a comprehensive upgrade of the existing External Sports Facilities of the Solea Secondary School, in Evrichou. Beyond the essential improvement of all finishes, the project also includes some additional supplementary spaces and supportive infrastructure. Together, these moves seek to bring about a meaningful transformation of the existing condition.
Architecturally, the attempt sought to work with conventional spatial components typical of the context – both in terms of School and Landscape – but to redeploy these in a strategic way that bestows a sense of ‘strange familiarity’. In this sense, the Project seems concurrently both an integral part of its context, and something new.
