This developed suburban neighbourhood in Nicosia, which consists predominantly by large and affluent single-family dwellings with generous gardens, forms an appropriate context for this Residence.
The linear formation of the building allows extensive integration between interior and exterior within the wide plot, which is articulated in three zones: to the west the zone for larger social gatherings, to the east the family zone, while in-between the two there is the zone of the entrance acting as a filtering device.
Extended slabs of the first floor and roof negotiate the urban area’s horizontal scale, resonating traditional Cypriot architecture. Within each level, travertine marble and high-pressured laminate surfaces interchange, in an effort to enhance tectonic complexity.
