This work-in-progress Project concerns a Multi-Residential Development for a site with challenging terrain in Yersokipou. While the graphics here might not be as ‘polished’ and seductive as those customarily presented by architects and developers, we take the view that these have a different value – as they reveal more directly the Project’s Diagrammatic Intent.
The project consists of both Apartment Buildings and Single-Family Dwellings, as well as a number of collective facilities. The proposed architecture places these collective spaces at the topographic peak, thereby ensuring that the Dwellings are distributed below the resulting ‘collective life’ plateau, while the Apartment Buildings are positioned around it – all enjoying long-distance horizon views.
All buildings tactically negotiate the challenging topographic variation in a way which retains its natural terrain, thereby resulting in a project of considerable sectional displacement, which nonetheless achieves proper accessibility and strong cohesion.
