The Hellenic Bank Headquarters occupies a prominent site that marks the entrance of Nicosia with its monumental architectural approach. Even though the façade follows a strict pattern, the interior spaces show otherwise as the building’s systematic rhythm of windows and openings enables a variety of spatial configurations allowing a functionally flexible and adaptable interior. The primary ‘’high-rise’’ structure consists of office spaces organized around an atrium, which penetrates vertically the building, drawing natural light throughout the building and creating an inviting atmosphere for its users.
Adjacent to the main building stands a low-rise distinctive circular structure that accommodates an amphitheater, facilitating events and gatherings. This strategic gesture complements the headquarters’ formal facade, adding a dynamic element to the composition. Together, the buildings combine to form a cohesive configuration that harmonizes practical flexibility with a sophisticated, responsive design.
