This study includes the submission of a proposal for the Architectural Competition for the CFA Sports Center in Kornos, Larnaca, which aims to construct a modern Sports Centre to house the National Teams of Cyprus.
Faced with a large expanse of land in a serene landscape surrounded by greenery, we are called to create a landmark for sports, which seeks to absorb the flow of a modern Sports Center and create a complex of recreation, entertainment, and work environment.
Our frame of reference and inspiration is the symbiotic outcome that arises from the combination of the synthetic, geometric factor with the organic factor. We base our proposal on the existing land curves, embracing the natural flow and aesthetics the area offers.
We are developing a series of buildings with an imposing architectural character, utilizing the morphological elements of the Cypriot landscape. The main facade of the project includes a contrasting variation of volumes, simulating the existing landscape, in an effort to largely preserve the natural environment of the site and the surrounding area. Some buildings are situated on the hill, harmonizing with the natural curves, while others are sunken, effortlessly blending into the surrounding landscape.
In an ever-changing climate period, we aim to protect the vegetation in the area and create pillars that prioritize environmental integration.
