The facility features separate amenities for men and women, including two waterparks, arcades, party halls, restaurants, spa facilities, shops, and a go-kart track. The design seamlessly blends the beachfront landscape with the urban context behind the development, integrating naturally with the terrain while creating monumental moments and points of interest through its various building volumes.

Materials were carefully selected to replicate the natural landscape, ensuring a fluid transition between the built environment and its surroundings. Shading structures are strategically placed throughout the project to protect users from Oman’s intense sun and weather conditions.

The transition between the city and the sea is achieved through a series of dynamically formed plateaux, inspired by the mountains of Oman, Muscat’s city grid, and the surrounding landscape. This secondary landscape further enhances the transition between urban and natural environments, forming steps and ramps for ease of access and, at times, draping over buildings like a protective cover. The design cleverly secludes certain areas, allowing visitors to discover new views and facilities as they explore. The women’s areas are discreetly shielded from public view on all sides.

A giant pergola, inspired by the forests of the Dhofar mountains, provides essential shade throughout the complex. This structure, made from steel and wood, combined with natural vegetation, creates natural forms of shadow which move with the gasps of wind. Spray and ventilation systems simulate the natural mist found in the Dhofar mountains, enhancing the cooling effect. The pergola also strategically blocks views to more private or sensitive areas. The swimming pools use seawater, offering a natural transition between the sea and the development for swimmers. Islamic geometrical patterns are imprinted throughout the complex, sometimes forming furniture through volume extrusions. At the center of the landscape, the restaurant is situated on the tallest plateau, providing a unique panoramic view of the bay.

The Family Recreation Centre at Four Season Beach is a testament to thoughtful design, creating a harmonious blend of natural and built environments while offering a wide range of amenities for all visitors.

The Family Recreation Centre at Four Season Beach in Oman is a comprehensive public beach entertainment complex designed to cater to visitors of all ages and genres.
